| PALACIO DE OTAZU ALTAR ABV 13%
Otazu brings together architecture, nature, art and wine. Located in a fabulous setting with an architectural style reminiscent of the French chateaux, this is the northernmost red wine maker in Spain. Only 8 km from Pamplona, it is ensconced between the Sierra del Perdon and the Sierra de Echauri, with the river Arga as its natural border. It enjoys an exceptional microclimate with Atlantic and Mediterranean influences that are perfect for grape ripening.
Bodega Otazu makes wines exclusively with the grapes of the 115 hectares of vineyards that surround it. There, it has planted Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes for making reds and Chardonnay for whites. The foundation of its wines lies in a strict selection of grapes from its own estates, with painstaking care of every process, from pruning to ageing in French Allier oak barrels.
Altar is the top wine of the estate.
Deep cherry red with jet hues and a violet edge. A complex and initially hermetic bouquet. After some time in the glass, the wine proves to be tremendously mineral, ripe with many smoky hints(raw bacon), black olive, Cornicabra oil, spicy and aromatic herbs(thyme). Just one way of describing the palate ; HUGE. This is a dense, fine yet full-bodied wine, structured, fresh and once again, with a very mineral finish. A long life wine which will benefit from oxygenating after opening. TEMPRANILLO,MERLOT,CABERNET S
