Amarula Cream liqueur is made from the Africa Marula tree whose fruit is sometimes called "elephant juice." The fruit is yellow and looks a bit like a lemon. It is claimed to have aphrodisiac properties and is called the "marriage tree." The fruit is pulped locally and produces a wine, which is then distilled into a kind of brandy, aged for 2 years in oak, and blended with fresh cream for the liqueur.
